Passion goes a long way…

So last week on my way from Lanseria I accidentally visited Maggie’s Farm. Well my son spotted the place. While my eyes were focused on traffic, he was able to notice the Antique sign. So after a brief bargain, I made a U-turn and went back into Maggie’s Farm (the home of the chicken pie). https://www.facebook.com/homeofthechickenpie .

What a surprise and warm welcome we had. The venue has such a pleasant atmosphere. As we arrived, we were greeted by a peaceful and serene vibe.

The highlight was the Cradle Antique Store operated by Peter. His passion as a Collector exudes with such ease as he explains the historical details of some rare collectible items in the Store. The store is home to items from the 1800s meticulously preserved over the years and still in mint condition.

I watched as he and my son Judah interacted about the vintage Camera collection in the store. When I asked Peter what inspired him to open an Antique Store, he answered with beaming pride, “I have always had passion for Collecting items”.

Peter also has a bookshop within the vicinity. It also has a collection of hundreds of books, CDs and DVDs that are a shoppers’ delight with an eye and taste of authentic vintage titles, music and movies. I was captivated by the diverse titles kept at the bookshop. My experience at the Antique store and the Bookshop demonstrated that passion goes a long way in helping one to express one’s giftedness.

In talking to Peter I remembered the words of the ancient philosopher Confucius, when he said, “Choose a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life”.  The time I spent with Peter I saw that he embodies those words.

I was truly inspired by Peter’s exuberant devotion towards Collection of Antique items and making them available to eager buyers who would not find such items in mainstream retail shops.

The question that keeps ringing in my mind is, “What am I going to do, to take my passion to the next level?”

Perhaps you may ask yourself, “How is your passion taking you to the next level”

Indeed my take away from the visit to Maggies Farm and Cradle Antique is that passion goes a long way in taking one to the next level.
